Pre-Halloween trip to Timber Cove

Thursday before Halloween it was off to Timber Cove for a visit with Tanna, Stephen, and Sulwen. Timber Cove being where it is, and us being the long-distance challenged folks we are, it was late afternoon before we got there. There was a nice sunset, but more of that later.

Friday we got down to business, with Sulwen trying on her new clothes. Most important of that was the beginnings of her Halloween costume. Later in the morning, Grammy and Grandad went up to Sulwen's preschool, and Grammy read to them, getting their rapt attention. After lunch, Sulwen worked on her art project. Later, back at the house Sulwen demonstrated her bungee jumping (fair warning-this is a 40MB file, i.e. 5 minutes plus on a 1 mbit connection). Have to do something about that no-barrier edge. Here's a picture I took of the play yard while waiting for the beautiful sunset. To say nothing of the new moon.

Saturday, as soon as I got the safety net on the trampoline, Sulwen was out giving it a workout. Then it was on to the swing. Finally, Sulwen and I donned our new jack-o-lantern Ts (I made them - well, I bought the shirts, but the transfer I did all by myself) in preparation for the carving. We had some help. Here's the result of some of our hard work. Time for a short interlude of dancing. A bit more posing with jack-o-lanterns was in order. Can't get too many jack-o-lantern shots.

Sunday morning, Stephen's and Tanna's friend Cami brought a beautiful skirt along with a white blouse for Suwlen to dance in. She loves it! One more shot of the jack-o-lanterns since they begged me to show them off one more time. Then it was across to the neighbors where I had put up a swing from a tree sometime in the past, and Sulwen loves swinging in it. A bit later, Tanna discovered this praying mantis on her shirt, and he/she was nice enough to pose for this shot. Then, it was time for Grammy and Grandad to head back to Oregon. A GOOD visit.

But wait, can't end here. I didn't take these pictures - Tanna sent them to us. Here's Sulwen on her way to trick or treat. And one more of her beautiful Latin American dress.
