SOLIR Fall Color Hike
Every Fall a SOLIR festivity is held on the Rogue River north of Prospect.
Richard and Ina Dickenson graciously make their cabin with a deck overlooking
a creek available for us to join together, feast on Ina's delicious
varieties of zucchini bread, and prepare for a grueling, but colorful, hike a
long the Rogue River. OK, I'm kidding about the grueling part since the
furtherest anyone walks is about 3.5 miles (downhill, such as it is).
This year there were two groups consisting of a total of about 30 SOLIRiens,
taking either a two mile hike, or a 3.5 mile hike. We started at the
campground by
Beckie's Cafe in Union Creek. Those of us on the "long hike" hiked along
Union Creek to the Rogue, and then south to
Natural Bridges. The views along the Rogue River
were spectacular, and some of my favorite images (couldn't choose between them
all, so I guess you have to if you have a slow connection).

Hope you enjoyed this. I did.
