Uncle Andrew and Aunt Elise Hudson's FIFTIETH wedding anniversary

The reason for an aforementioned trip to Florida was to attend the celebration of 50 years of marriage of Uncle Andrew and Aunt Elise Hudson. It was a wonderful celebration and family reunion that went on for days (not just the formal day of the official party). I took many pictures, but choose to show only a few here.

The serious fun started on Friday, June 28, with breakfast at the Katz Delicatessen. One can get a glimmer of how good the food was by seeing the very satisfied Elise and Andrew after the repast (Celebration date aside, this was their actual anniversary). Some of us went out to the Everglades for an airboat ride to see some of the local wildlife. It was a bit of a wet day, but we were all prepared ($1.69 per poncho, more or less). We got to see alligators, pointed out to us by our intrepid airboat driver. Also saw lots of birds, but no good pictures - sorry.

That evening the family repast was taken at the local Outback, and here is a composite picture of the party (except me - don't despair, I show up eventually).

The big party was on Saturday, June 29. Here is one of the couples attending the happy event (Amelia and Dick, in case no one recognizes us dressed up). Here are Elise and Andrew welcoming their friends and family to the event. At one point I caught the hosts engaged in light banter with Don and Becky Beardsley. Later it was time for some family photos, and here are the hosts with their children Kim, Rex, Dawn, and Randy, followed by the photo op of their grandchildren Jeremy, James, Alisa, and Heather. Throughout the afternoon guests engaged in wild and crazy dancing, and sometimes more sedate dancing.

The next morning we (Don, Becky, Amelia, and I) hosted a little brunch at our condominium. The only picture of note is this one of Heather hanging from the ceiling (which I've posted upsidedown). Later we went to Pompano Beach where the water was warm, but others just enjoyed watching and talking . Some had a better time than others, or so it seemed.

Monday was parting day for many, and I got one last shot at Andrew's and Elise's condominium - clockwise from left back are Becky, Elise, Aunt Marjorie (Andrew's sister), and Amelia.

Tuesday it was back home for us, but I've already posted that story.
