Snowtime with the grandchildren

We went to Benicia before the President's weekend. Laura went to Washington, DC to visit Evan and we were taking care of the grandchildren. This went pretty well (except that I dropped my digital camera one too many times, so these pictures are all scanned film pictures - May add some of the digital ones when I get the repaired camera back - watch this spot!). On the weekend we were going to their other grandparents cabin in Quintette. Before that we played in the backyard, swinging, which Fiona loves. We went to the Lawrence Hall of Science on Friday, but no pictures there. It was a beautiful day and we could see across to San Francisco, Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges.

On Saturday we went to Quintette, and on Sunday after a little snow during the night, we went up Wentworth Springs Road a few miles to where there was a nice snowbank alongside the road. Ian and Fiona had some fun just being in the snow. For that matter, so did some of the grandparents. Eventually they got a bit more adventuresome, here Ian and then Fiona. For a little "hill" they zoomed along pretty well in the fluffy snow (after it got packed down a bit). Finally, a shot of the fairly well trampled and packed down little hill. Later that day it was back to Benicia where we had fun and games. It was back home on Tuesday while the grandkids went to Sacramento to await the end of the snowstorm (on the east coast) so Laura could come home.
